wishvane Terms of use
The short version: wishvane is a free tool that estimates how games do on Steam from public data. Treat every number as a starting point, not gospel. By using the site you agree to what follows.
The numbers are estimates
Every copy count, revenue figure, and genre read on wishvane is a labeled estimate derived from public review counts and owner ranges, not exact sales data. The method is shown, and the numbers are ranges on purpose, because the truth is a spread, not a point.
They are meant to help you size up a market, not to be relied on as fact. wishvane is not financial, investment, or business advice, and nothing here is a promise about how any game (including yours) will actually perform. Do your own diligence before you bet time or money on a concept. The site and its estimates are provided as is, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Where the data comes from, and who I'm not
Game data comes from Steam and from SteamSpy (used under its CC BY-NC license, with attribution). wishvane is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve, Steam, SteamSpy, or any game or studio it names. Game titles, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the games being discussed.
Fair use of the service
wishvane is free and rate-limited so it stays up for everyone. Please don't try to overload it, bypass those limits, or scrape it wholesale to rebuild its dataset elsewhere, and don't use it for anything unlawful. I may limit or block use that puts the service or its data sources at risk.
No account, no guarantees
There is no account and no subscription. Because it's a free tool I build in the open, it can change, break, or go away, and I don't guarantee it will always be available or correct. A comparison you build lives under a shareable link that anyone with the link can open, so treat it as public and don't put anything sensitive in it.
What's wishvane's, and what isn't
The wishvane name, design, wording, and the way it turns data into a read are mine. The underlying public data is not, it belongs to Steam, SteamSpy, and the games themselves. You're welcome to use wishvane's reads to inform your own work; please don't pass the site's original content off as your own product.
Liability, changes, and the law
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any decision you make using wishvane's estimates, or for any loss from the site being unavailable, delayed, or wrong. You use it at your own risk.
These terms may change as the product grows; the version on this page is the one that applies. They're governed by the laws of Brazil, where I operate. If some part is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
